Youth ages 6-18 from low-income homes quit sports because of the financial costs at six times the rate of kids from high-income homes, according to a national survey of parents by the Aspen Institute’s Project Play initiative and Utah State University’s Families in Sport Lab. The application and request for Create a Legend Foundation (the “Foundation”) to be recognized as a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exemption organization has been submitted and is currently pending review by the IRS. The Foundation believes that the IRS will grant the Foundation’s request to be treated as a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. At such time as the IRS grants the Foundation’s request, contributions made to the Foundation prior to and after the date on which the tax-exempt status is granted shall be tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Subject to other applicable limitations, the amount of your contribution that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the excess of any money (and the value of any property other than money) you contributed over the value of goods or services provided by the Foundation.
